How do I sign up for utilities?

A $250 deposit (Homeowner) or $400 deposit (Renter) + $15 hook up fee is required before utilities are turned on.
All customers should notify Curtis Light & Water prior to moving out of a residence so a final meter reading can be taken. Water, sewer, electricity, and trash are all included in the city utility bills.

City utilities are billed the last week of every month. Bills are due on the 1st and late fees apply if not paid by the 10th of the month.
When is my trash pickup?
Trash is picked up weekly, Wednesday's & Thursday's. If an alley dumpster is not available, carts will be provided and they will be dumped at the end of driveways on the designated trash day. For questions, please call 367-4122.

TRASH and RECYCLING Questions:
GRASS CLIPPINGS AND TREE BRANCHES: Are resident hauled to the yard waste location on the east end of Mill Park. NO OTHER ITEMS ARE ACCEPTED HERE INCLUDING OTHER WOOD PRODUCTS.
RECYCLING: The city has a recycling trailer located to the south of the community center located at 201 Garlick Avenue. It accepts aluminum, plastics 1 & 2, and paper.
METAL REYCLING: There is a trailer provided by the city trash department for the recycling of larger metal-based items located at the trash shop at 303 Howard Avenue
LARGE ITEM WASTE: The city trash department provides a community roll-off dumpster at 303 Howard Avenue for the disposal of large items such as furniture, cabinets, and other similar large items that would not otherwise fit in your regular trash receptacle.
RENT A ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER: The city has a limited number of 3-Yard roll off containers that may be rented for a fee when large projects are being worked on. To reserve a roll-off dumpster please call the city office at 308-367-4122
